how it works
Fostering in Torfaen is far more connected than you may have thought. We have a dedicated network that provides expertise, professional support and guidance.
better together
We support foster children and their foster families. We also support the skilled professionals, such as social workers, who work with us every day.
This high level of support we offer is only possible because Foster Wales is every Local Authority working together. It’s a collaboration of 22 dedicated non-for-profit organisations. At our core and at every level, we are for people, not profit.
Everything – all the funding we receive, and all the skills and expertise we develop – goes right back into making us better at what we do. We always want to improve for you. For the children in Torfaen. We want to give more, where it’s needed most.
what makes us different?
Foster Wales is not your standard fostering agency. We’re a nationwide collective of 22 Local Authority fostering teams throughout Wales.
Remaining local is at the heart of everything we do. We look at the whole picture to ensure we do the best for the children in our care. We work to maintain friendships. To help keep children connected to schools, clubs and communities that matter to them.
Our priority will always be keeping the children in our care somewhere they are familiar with and maintaining their important ties. Keeping them close to the local places they know and love for as long as it’s right for them. We look at maintaining their sense of belonging and identity. It’s all about understanding and caring for each child and knowing what is best for them.
As a foster parent with Foster Wales, you’re the person who makes all of this possible.
